That's what they're telling me. My father invented a piece of software called Surface. Surface was a 3D-modelling tool that provided realistic weather conditions for tents. Dan, his business partner, apparently knew George and he was an early client. Surface was reasonably big news in the tech world: it was ahead of its time. This was in the late 1980's and early 1990's. Surface was disbanded in the late 2000's. All Andy said was that it was used for music festivals.
Andy met Bill Gates as well, and was briefly Don McGlashan's lover. He never told me much about all the celebrity stuff: Kiwis aren't usually name-droppers. That's why nobody knew that Sondheim was my mentor until after he died. Don told me about Dad and Steve a year or so ago, while he was in remand. I met Don one time as a little kid. We visited Wellington, and Andy took my brother and I to have dinner with a crazy hippie friend of his. Don was working for MFAT, I think.
