The Jackson family has some very good musicians in it. People that were able to seamlessly transcribe* Michael or Janet as they improvised. *Quincy Jones did that for Thriller, obviously. Michael could read music and write a song, but was busy dancing. Taylor is able to do it all as she's only doing basic steps. An interesting factoid is that Michael was into classical voice and would read PV scores. Composers we both liked were Palestrina and Purcell. - Why is this hidden? Record companies trade on the idea that anyone could do it. Bands wouldn't be relatable if everyone knew they were total freaks. Taylor can read a Hollywood full score (in C). Doesn't know the transposed ranges.

For Jordan Peele: Michael was a keen concertgoer. Some scenes of him at the symphony or the opera during the trials might be a useful framing device. As for reading scores: people do things to kill time on long flights. Sir Paul is a movie buff and likes rehearsing on flights. - Why opera scores? Michael knew what notes he was singing. It was probably a comparison thing. Flights are boring. Music comes alive if you can hear and read it simultaneously. Live classical is very good for pain management.
