Islamicate

That's the fancy word for Muslim-majority societies. I've said before that it's an Islamicate Opera, dressed in the form of Victorian Melodrama. An imperfect term, but useful for The Perfumed Garden. We're seeking a majority Islamicate cast, but that could include any society. For example, Michelle is from Kuching and half-Indigenous, half-European. Malaysia is a Muslim-majority country. Certain parts of India and Sri Lanka are majority Islamicate. Dave Armstrong wants Africans in the mix. - Vocally, we're seeking to expand natural voices, though some arias are classical.
