Well, obviously it's not a perfect film. I see it as akin to Good For Nothing, in that it sold well outside NZ in an era where that wasn't all that common. To me, Footrot Flats is still part of my childhood, even though the strips probably weren't in circulation when I was a kid (born 1994, same as Chloe, though I'm a month older). So was John Clarke, though the hat was something I bought at The Third Eye, which sells mostly Indian stuff. - As for the Bicentennial Man: I first saw that at 4 or 5 -- films seen that young are like things that imprint upon your memory. So, obviously, when I saw it as an adult I still thought it was very moving. I've read the Asimov stories that it's based on, and honestly prefer the Columbus movie. It moved me.... to another marathon!
