Ok, let me ask you a question. What are the overheads for any given concert, excluding travel, for the NZSO? Then, how about including travel? Can you give me an emissions budget as well? How about NZ Opera: what is the average cost of each production, and do the box office takings come anywhere near making a dent in that cost? - This is for Mary and other journalistic types: I'm very keen to really ask these questions, and I'm sure that other journos might also enjoy this exercise of holding power to account. I think that the arts sector often avoids scrutiny and criticism because of the lack of resources that are directed towards reporting about that sector. Plus how many other people know about the business side of showbusiness?
