I found out that he died while attending Question Time today. I knew him a bit: we were neighbours for the last several years while I was living in the Willis Street boarding house from Episode VII of the Dakumentary. Good old Rodger! Letting me into the building After I'd gotten locked out While going for a smoke. Good old Rodger! Finding me a trombone When I unexpectedly Found myself playing trombone at jazz camp. Good old Rodger! Listening to my CSM jazz band in Christchurch When I was a teenager. Good old Rodger! Hiring me to film a gig, then forgetting to pay me. šŸ˜‚ Good old Rodger! Scatting a chorus in the ACR Good old Rodger! I'll miss him.
