Did I use AI to write my essays?

Yes, but my justification is sound. In my mind, academic writing is just word shuffling. Believe me, I spent six months evaluating academic essays across the Commonwealth. It's already written by formula or rewritten by gifted writers. How does AI change that? - It doesn't require any particular talent, and most people are terrible at it. The irony is that people can't work out from my essays if ChatGPT co-wrote it. RNZ eventually threw in the towel. I have a distinctive style. Given that I literally rewrote AI processes slightly, the software has done a reasonable job of imitating my voice. Then I edit it, like anyone else. - I think that academia has consistently prized visibility over ability. That's why all the postgraduates are incompetent these days. - I never use it to write my screenplays or my short stories. Those are pure Amanda.

The Tupaia story was AI-assisted, but that's not a short story: it's a container for truths that were too uncomfortable for most historians.
