Defending Shipwrecked

Lagaan doesn't have dope action scenes, but Procession of Memories and Naseeb both had dope-as action. I also love Hong Kong action and The Raid films. Now that you're getting to know me, I bet that all the film buffs are excited that there's a movie director that knows obscure movies. It really isn't a negotiation: Shipwrecked 2030 or my original songs go to waste. VUW has to cease harassing me to accept paying them to make my movies. Sorry, Salina and other VUW lackeys, but scholarships and residences aren't money and you could easily afford to pay me the $50,000 to buy my script, much like Gibson Group or South Pacific Pictures might if they were interested in that material. Please stop trying to persuade me. I'm not coming back and Tina is legally my IP. Please stop negging me and questioning my ability to notate, perform or compose music. I can do all those things AND direct films, and so could Satyajit Ray. Hell, Sondheim only had an undergrad music degree. I did a year of post-grad, and I fucking hated it. I've written a range of short films that can test my ability to control a pro cast and crew. Those are reasonable and realistic goals that I've set for myself. - I'm not kidding about wanting public apologies from certain people in the Wellington gay community. They genuinely slandered me in the Post. 😠 That was four years ago, but people treated that as fact, and treated me like some kind of sexual deviant - I figured they thought I was a paedo - on the basis of that 'fact' that the drag community put in the newspaper of record. Ms. Swarbrick got a caricature with a bong. I got called a pervert. Tina isn't an apology. Shipwrecked without compromises might just qualify as one. I expect the people that I named to respect my cease-and-desist letters and their ban from utilising my music as real and serious statements. They are: my music is clearly worth something to them, so this is the best punishment that I could devise. I had to make a 20-hour documentary to clear my name, and therefore I'm extremely angry, as I didn't think that I'd done anything wrong in the first place. The staggeringly high YES vote that I garnered in Welly Central was a sign that the majority of the overall community supported me, even if certain people in the gay community hated me. And you managed to distract me from a film I was actually enjoying... stop spying over my shoulder, stop pre-checking the films that I'm illegally downloading and actually enjoy the ride that I'm devising. Vaffanculo! (go fuck yourselves). Amanda

It's not a 'both/and' situation: I had to fight tooth and nail to defend my Tina IP. In fact, we actually went through an arbitration process, and I won. I'm going to publish Just Like Yesterday as a novella. They're more than welcome to purchase those rights. Let's talk about my short films and Shipwrecked and leave this unpleasantness regarding the Tina film behind us, shall we?

Sorry doesn't cut it, VUW. You tried to steal my script, and I can't forgive that. Wtf? Like, honestly, what was the thinking behind that decision to challenge my IP rights? If this is the way you treat your 'friends', NZSM, I'm not surprised that you're very likely to get fired in 2026. My suggestion is to sell Jack's instruments to Te Papa in order to free up some money for the bread-and-butter of breeding NZSO players. Plus that VUW should sell some of their student accomodation to the Government and then buy it back on a perpetual lease.
