Dear VUW,

Subject: Cease and Desist Harassment Notice

‍

I am writing this letter to formally request that you cease and desist all forms of communication and harassment directed towards me. It has come to my attention that you have engaged in a pattern of behavior that includes using my friends as puppets in a scheme to attempt to persuade me to license my copyrighted material, beginning on or around January 2023. This conduct is both unwelcome and unacceptable.

Your actions have caused me considerable distress and anxiety. Such harassment is not only uncalled for but is also in violation of my rights as a creator.

I hereby demand the following:

‍

1. An immediate cessation of all forms of harassment and any behavior that can be construed as such.

2. An apology for the previous attempts to persuade me to license my material.

Please understand that this letter is not a comprehensive or exhaustive statement of my rights, legal or otherwise, in connection with the above matter. I expressly reserve all rights and remedies available to me should the harassment continue.

If the harassment does not cease, or if there is any retaliation resulting from the receipt of this letter, I will not hesitate to take legal action to protect my rights and well-being.

I strongly advise you to take this letter seriously and to govern yourself accordingly.

Do not patronise me. Do not insult my intelligence. I've said no to your ideas, and that's ultimately my decision to make. I might lose out on making money, but my honour is something that I think is more important than money. So, to recap, any and all harassment regarding Just Like Yesterday should cease. I think that's fair. Same goes for Pan's Preludes. There is no legal recourse that will allow you to use this material without my consent, so I hope that you take this letter seriously and leave me alone. I've got plans for 2024 that my mental health team were ok with, so how about allowing me to pursue that plan? 👋
