captioning

Well, Stephen paid for captions for Portrait of a Knight and his 2020 Bluegrass gig. Otherwise, I think we only have auto-captioning. This is mostly because of my views as a film theorist. I'm a philosophical purist: I ultimately think of subtitled films as an entirely different aesthetic experience to movies without subtitles, so I haven't bothered for any of my larger projects. I probably should for These Words Are Meant For Someone, but I published the score alongside that video opera when I made the Ad on Facebook, so I figured that had all the lyrics. - I can see why people watching videos with the sound off has taken off, though. A lot of people are very whakamā about ambient sound of TV's etc. This is the sort-of thing one realises living in a boarding house. I don't care, though. I'm a film nerd and I grew up playing music, so I'm mostly over those.
