about psychedelics

I caught up with Amber over the weekend, and she reckoned NZ wasn't ready to legalise psychedelics just yet... she's one of my conservative friends - yes, I have conservative friends.
Tbh that cracked me up, given I introduced her to acid (a half-tab, but she definitely got high). 🤣

The drug harm indexes routinely demonstrate that the so-called classic psychedelics are way safer than cannabis, and I'm fairly sure most of the negative experiences in my own life were caused by fake drugs - particularly the one where Stephen jumped off the wall.
Quite a few people had adverse reactions at that party, which was unusual for us, and we'd been tripping for a year solid by that point.
He took a heroic+ dose (2 tabs of the dodgy acid, mescaline, pot and MDMA [I think]) - this is the legacy of all the psychonaut literature ... tbh I think that shit needs to be read with a heavy grain of salt, and it's depressing that the psychedelics and cannabis communities are resistant to the 'egghead' research.
An active dose is enough, and mixing psychedelic drugs is seldom a great idea - that's my advice to trippers. I like to drink and smoke pot during acid trips, but I've never candyflipped, and DMT is a very short-acting substance .. 20 minutes max.

My bro is also into parapsychology, which I think is pure bullshit. People aren't psychic, or at least, not in the ESP sense... some people read people well, and that's about it for so-called 'psychic' abilities.
I tend to think of improvised music as the closest we get to being psychic -- but that's still a limited setting, usually working with modes/frameworks that all the players are familiar with.
We're more telepathic due to computers, but context is everything, and that's why memes are so popular.
