What I have hated from the Wellington community is this whole sense of 'good trans' and 'bad trans' -- that's the way I feel the queer and straight communities alike have opined about me. And their 'solution' is either to make me 'good trans' with invasive surgeries and cosmetics, or to 'detransition' me, when both options are expressly against my wishes for my own gender expression. Gender-affirming care means listening to the patient, rather than writing me off because you don't like my bearded lady shtick or my leg hair. So, much like nobody should be converted to another sexual orientation, it is incumbent on me to stand up and say I'm fine with not passing, and the pressure to 'pass' is something that fucks with my head every single day. - Watch that Fane Flaws Funny As interview the whole way through, critics, and you'll see trannies like me have always been part of the Wellington scene.💚 - I'm the one who bloody well threw all the trans Wellington history books at you lot (and colourised all those lovely archive photos 💜), so accept I'm the expert when it comes to that topic. 🧠 If you wish to discriminate against me in employment for how I express my gender, sadly I can't stop you, but that's an oversight that the NZ Government should correct. That's why I come to Question Time, plus the drug law reform. 👍
