Why won't you do a masters degree?

Aside from the cost, which is the main obstacle, I have a variety of reasons:
1. My best music wasn't written for academia.
2. I'm not interested in writing 30,000 words about the thing that I do. I like short essays, but that's about it... I think that analysis kills my flow, and that's why I'm not academic. 3. There's nobody on the NZSM faculty who interests me. Mark Menzies does, but that's UC and ChCh... but, even so, I could meet him without studying. 4. The narrow-minded opinions academia had about me are why I left, and those haven't really changed since I left. All that changed was me... I've grown up, and that's why I'm completely sick of those people (who miss the me who they despised). 🤬
