Emanuel and I are in agreement: I'm not going to be singing a live version. Why? Because I'm not a full-blooded tenor. Much like any singer in the world, I can sing excerpts (at my discretion). The full piece is reserved for people who have the right sound and abilities. Replicating my version would be bad karaoke.
There will be no stage adaptations. Some Kind of Love and Portrait of a Knight have already done what Mr. Mackintosh and others might wish to do. It may irk them, but Wellington Stories is considered the equal of any stage show. Sorta the point... Mr. Sondheim wanted to see if a film could achieve the same thing as the great stage musicals.
Yes, I know the score needs engraving. I'm hoping MPL will do that with me.
Stolen Years was actually about Taylor, not Barbie. 'Watching you feel my fears' ... that's about the Amanda songs in Taylor's catalogue. Quite a few of the post-2018 songs make allusions to me. 👍
