If my Reo teacher is right, then it would be technically accurate to say that there's whakapapa within my tupuna, but that there's no specific tipuna that's from my particular ancestral line.

He said that's how it was explained in a Rose Pere book. Tupuna = many ancestral houses, while tipuna = an ancestral home.
