I was single when I came out. I think that's different to many of the 'temporary trans' people. I get it -- the stigma is intense; how many of you would have risked losing all your families and friends over what clothes you wear? If you went back, that's your choice; it isn't mine. 🏳️⚧️ - I fully intend to remain this way, even though it's wrecked my love life. I enjoy wearing new dresses, but calling me a queen was ultimately insulting.
I may have ironically referred to myself as one, but that's literally not what I said when I came out: I said non-binary/transfeminine, and I said female impersonator rather than 'drag queen'. That mentality was toxic, and that's why I stopped making those drag films and began making the Dakumentary. Plus I got hired by RNZ: that also shifted my interests. 🎥✊
