Question Time quick review - there's a Treaty Settlement debate happening, so these are the questions that I saw. -

1. Debbie to Luxon

'This Government owes it to Kiwis to focus on delivering' - Luxon. Yeah, right.

'Targeted racism against Māori' - Debbie, quoting something.

'We are here to improve outcomes for Māori' - Luxon.

Then Debbie said that 93% of Māori experience daily racism. Where does that stat come from?

Score: D 6, CL 5 -

2. Chloe to Luxon

'waffle, waffle, waffle' - Gary's summation.

Methane question: 'We can't just shut down the world's best farmers!' - Luxon, trotting out the familiar refrain.

'We are reviewing the science base' - Luxon. ??

Scores C 5, CL 4. That last comment was the tiebreaker.

-

3. Chippy to Egg

Are all the new truancy measures approved by Cabinet?

Luxon made no attempt to answer that.

'He hates children!' - Gary Chiles

Chris was on today, piercing that teflon.

CH 7, CL 4. -

4. Simpson to Willis

Finance question. Core crown spending = 33.4% of GDP

'Spending was deliberately kept high' - Nikki.

'Tax the rich, not the poor' - Gary.

'A medium-term plan for fiscal consolidation' - Nikki. SS 6, NW 5. -

5. Marama to Luxon

Good one. Emergency housing and seabed mining.

'questions, not speeches' - Brownlee

Then something weird happened... was it just me, or did Luxon say 'do the white thing' instead of 'do the right thing' accidentally???

I swear that he did. I'm looking forward to finding that clip. 🤣 MD 7, CL 4.
