Impressions from the peanut gallery

Well, the most obvious thing to say is that attending Parliament regularly humanises the politicians. - Which has been the message that Dakta and Gary have been saying to me for years... I agree, but I'm still cynical about the potential for change. My main thing is that I think MMP should be truly proportional... I got 1% of the vote to see an Ad. and that would have resulted in a seat had I been a candidate. I think that if the fringe parties had to participate in the democratic process, they'd probably become human as well. Plus diversity of ideas is part of democracy -- I chatted with the lunatic fringe during the Ad, as well as Nats. 👍 - I can see why laptops are important, but I wonder if phones in the House are necessary for politicians... - It's fun to see reporters who I read sitting in the Press Gallery. - I think I know what I want re: blocking the Weeded Out scene on Parliament Grounds... that could be a fun test, because it's one of those trippy dialogue scenes about philosophy. -
