Am I a whore?

No, but I make porn. And I'm not even remotely ashamed that people think of me as a pornographer. I think of those as classy affairs suitable for a broad audience, and I would hope the censors agree. Instead of The Room, how about some John Waters comparisons? I loved Female Trouble when I saw it (which was after Covid had started). - I think of myself as an entertainer rather than 'just' a queen. I'm a complicated person: my womanhood is important to me, but as a writer I try to capture the whole of society, rather than just the privileged few. I was rather pissed to get my dialogue critiqued by the blob: for the Tina script, I based most of the scenes off things real people had said, and thought I used lots of Kiwi slang. My generation uses American drugs slang, and the characters were mostly younger than me. While Shipwrecked I think the dialogue for the teens is on the money: the journos have sharpened as a result of my side-hustle, and the pollies from my activism. Writing the gun nuts and the tribes are the two stumbling blocks for me atm, though I think I've done a fair job with those .. I think my Utu is something people are keen on. Need another acid trip which is just about Shipwrecked. I'd take that for the spring equinox -- I still reckon 2-3 trips a year is good practice for a wizard: Gary takes a few each year. - I'm not interested in starring in a soap. I'd rather tell real docos (I'm a non-fiction buff), but I'm open to writing a soap. Though I'd rather not work for Shortland Street -- I'm sure there'd be way more screenwriting gigs in Auckland, so that's a real motivator to move. ChCh has the Kiri and Lou studios, but I'm unsure whether to approach them or not about Shipwrecked. I sent Ant an email, but he didn't reply. Plus I've sent Paddy several drafts of both.
